Scheduled Agricultural Products (SAP)

Introduction

The Legal, Trade and Regulations Department of National Agricultural Marketing Board (NAMBoard) is responsible for regulating the movement of Scheduled Agricultural Products (SAP) into, out of, and through Eswatini.

To ensure compliance with national regulations, traders dealing with SAP must obtain the relevant permits before conducting any trade activities.

NAMBoard issues the following permits:

1. Import Permit

2. Export Permit

3. Transit Permit

Permit applications are categorized into two sections:

• Individual Applicants

• Company Applicants

Each category has specific documentation requirements and application procedures.

Permit Type

Import Permit

An Import Permit authorizes a trader to import Scheduled Agricultural Products into Eswatini.

Requirements

Validity

The Import Permit is valid for 30 calendar days.

The permit expires at the end of each month.

Traders must renew the permit monthly by submitting a new application letter indicating: Updated application date The new month of import

Export Permit

An Export Permit authorizes a trader to export Scheduled Agricultural Products from Eswatini.

Requirements

Validity

The Export Permit is valid for one (1) year.

Transit Permit

A Transit Permit is required when Scheduled Agricultural Products pass through Eswatini to another destination country.

Requirements

Validity

The Transit Permit is valid for 30 days.

Fees

Registration Fee: E500 (Once-off payment)

Transit Permit Fee: E550 per permit

Applicant Categories

Individual Applicant

Company Applicant

Foreign Applicants

Foreign traders may apply as individual or registered companies. Submit equivalent registration documents issued in their country of origin.

NGO Applicant

Registered Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), charitable organizations, humanitarian agencies, faith-based organizations for donation, relief, humanitarian assistance, or community support purposes may apply for permits subject to the following requirements.
